Using GroupIDs to Join/Leave a Forum or switch to the Daily Digest

Each E-Democracy forum as a GroupID which serves the following functions:

• http:// forums.e-democracy.org/groups/GroupID takes you to the Forum Home Page
• The email address GroupID @ forums.e-democracy.org submits a post to the forum.

Simply replace the GroupID to join, leave or post to any of the forums.

To join or leave a forum email one of the following messages:

To join:

• Email GroupID @ forums.e-democracy.org with Subject=subscribe

To leave:

• Email GroupID @ forums.e-democracy.org with Subject=unsubscribe

In the case of join, you will receive a confirmation message you must reply to activate your membership in the forum.

Examples:

• If you are trying to join the Minneapolis Issues Forum, email mpls @ forums.e-democracy.org Subject=subscribe
• If you are trying to leave the Minneapolis Issues Forum, email mpls @ forums.e-democracy.org Subject=unsubscribe

To find the GroupID, go to our Forums tab and hover over the forum name. The GroupID will be that part of the URL after /groups/

Daily Digest Settings

To switch to the Daily Digest

• Email GroupID @ forums.e-democracy.org with Subject=digest on

To switch from the Digest to One email per post

• Email GroupID @ forums.e-democracy.org with Subject=digest off
